Ian’s Folly

Never in the history of Big Brother have I been so torn in how I feel about a House Guest. Ian is an enigma. When I try to pinpoint my feelings on this little lad I run into a Gordian Knot of affections ranging from adoration and empathy to disrespect and revulsion. I root for him, I boo at him, I find myself with face in hands despairing and cringing at a boy who is foolishly completing his folly.

This last week has been the capstone of these feelings. Ian can win this game! His only obstacle to victory is in Dan who, for reasons illogical, is controlling his every move. To quickly recap this week, Ian left his HOH reign taking out Frank in the first half of a Double Eviction. Dan won HOH and nominated Ian and maneuvered to take him out of the game. Ian wins POV and saved himself with Joe as the liability, then won HOH again! This is where my angst begins.

Ian could guarantee his win of Big Brother 14 if he makes it to the final two by sending Dan’s head on a silver platter to the Jury House. Ashley, Britney, Frank and Joe would without a doubt reward this move with a $500,000 prize. Ian could have been one of the most celebrated victors in Big Brother history. Instead he puts up Jenn and Shane with visions of Renegades dancing in his head. After Shane wins the POV he misses another colossal opportunity to get Dan out by telling Shane that he was Dan’s target for the week and completing Dan’s demise. But what does he do? He puts his trust in Dan AGAIN and puts up Danielle with Jenn as his target. Womp Womp Womp. I can’t comprehend this, my mind reels at the opportunities this kid has passed up. Instead of being added to the list of Big Brother Greats, his legacy may be of one the schmuck who was steamrollered by a vet and his own recklessness.

Ian, you’re one of the most lovable players who have stepped into the Big Brother House. Out of a handful of lovely ladies and hunky dudes, you’re easily the most adorable. Your quirky and humble persona has endeared yourself to America; you could be a legend in this game. Perhaps it’s your inexperience of youth or lack of social skills which is leading you to blunder so extravagantly. Maybe your insecurity is leading you to settle for 3rd of 4th place. I can’t understand why you would take someone further that can easily beat you. I’m still holding out a little hope that a light will shine on you but I’m really net expecting you to make it past next week. Your absence will be sorely missed.

I can’t put myself in Ian’s shoes. I don’t know the motives behind these moves. I do know he is letting down a million fans (myself included) who are rooting for him. I’m quite positive he will win America’s Player and the $25,000 it brings and I’m positive this won’t be the last we see of him on Big Brother. Maybe that’s enough for him, I don’t know. I’m only left feeling the void of a lost opportunity and a happy conclusion that will never be. I can only conclude that if Ian loses Big Brother 14, it’s a loss for us all.

Big Brother is in overdrive this week as we’ve already had two evictions and crowned a new HOH in two days. Reigning HOH Ian was convinced by Dan not to nominate him and convinced him that the target should be Jenn. Ian isn’t harnessing his intellect and somehow agrees with this. When the Live Feeds returned from the Nomination Ceremony…

Hopefully for our sanity’s sake, there’s a bigger plan in the works in Ian’s head, but I doubt it and I think we’ll be seeing Jenn leave the Big Brother 14 house this week.

Big Brother Week 9 HOH Competition Results

After we said goodbye to Frank and Joe on Thursday’s Double Eviction, the cut later that evening for this week’s HOH Competition! They players had to guess the day of a certain event and toss a ball and try to land in said day, think of Jordan’s last HOH win.

When the Live Feeds return, we have our newly crowned HOH.

Ian is the new Head of Household

Aftward, Ian vowed to protect Dan this week. I’m hoping Ian isn’t that thick and will work on getting Dan out, but he seems to think it’s a great idea to take somebody who will beat him to the final two. He said he would put Jenn and Shane up this week. Who do you think Ian should nominate this week?

Big Brother 14 Week 8 POV Ceremony Results

Earlier this week Ian nominated Frank and Jenn as “revenge” for getting his only true ally, Britney, evicted last Thursday. Dan has won the Power of Veto competition and the debate was whether to use it or not. Regardless, Frank is going home this week so ideally keeping Jenn (the only one who will vote to keep Frank) on the block would be preferable for the renewed Quack Pack. Dan, on the other hand, is playing under the radar and wants to take Jenn off the block to “return the favor” thus garnering favor with her for later when he has to go after Shane.

Dan used the POV on Jenn. Ian nominated Joe as a replacement. It didn’t matter who he put up, Frank is walking out the door this week

Big Brother 14 Week 8 POV Competition Results

The Power of Veto Competition has been played in the Big Brother 14 House. Ian had put Frank and Jenn on the block as revenge for getting Britney out of the house. His target teetered between the two nominees. The POV comp featured OTEV and the contestants had to find dolls of the houseguests that he made statements about.

When the Live Feeds came back on, Dan held up the Veto medallion and said to the camera: “This right here is the ticket to finally getting Frank out of this game.” Dan has stated that he will use the POV on Jenn since she saved him last week. He asked Frank if he would mind if he took Jenn off the block as a ruse to make Frank feel comfortable. He’s feigning that he will try to get Joe out of the House this week.

Do you think Dan should use the POV or just leave the nominations the same as Frank will go home this week?

Big Brother 14 Week 5 POV Competition Results

It’s a very pivotal week in the Big Brother 14 house; not only for the players but for us as well. With Frank as reigning HOH and Joe and Wil on the block, the results of the POV will determine if the Silent Six will run through the remainder of the house or if an underdog wins expect drama to ensue.

Frank, Joe and Wil drew Ashley, Boogie and Jenn’s names as the other players.

When the Live Feeds return:

• Frank has won the Power of Veto!

As of today Frank doesn’t plan on using the POV and the house is content on cutting Wil loose. All talk of blindsiding Shane or Dan are off the table so we patiently wait for Thursday’s new HOH to stir up the house.

In other news Zingot 3000 was unleashed upon the house. We will have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday’s show to see his insults but you can catch most of them on the Live Feeds. They return at 8:43 PM BBT if you want to get a sneak peek.

Big Brother Week 5 Nomination Ceremony Results

After Frank won the HOH last night there was a lot of anxiety amongst the house guests as to whom he will nominate. After Frank settled in his HOH room last night, he had talks with Boogie about putting up Joe with Shane or Dan to disguise the Silent Six alliance, but there was a hint that they’d try to get Shane or Dan out if they could. Today Frank toyed with the idea of backdooring Dan this week, but Boogie shot it down saying it was too early and he didn’t think they had the votes to do it.

In the end it looked like Wil would have the honor of going on the block against Joe. In the meantime, the Big Brother 14 House had the Have Not competition. Have Not’s are Joe, Shane, Danielle and Britney. America voted cod fish and candy canes as the Have Not Food.

When the Live Feeds return after the Nomination Ceremony…

• Frank has nominated Joe and Wil.

I think the week is still young and there may be room for a backdoor of Dan or Shane. Here’s hoping…

Big Brother 14 Week 4 POV Ceremony Results

The Power of Veto Ceremony was held today but the real dramatics started two nights ago. The plan was set in stone for Frank to be evicted this week. Britney, Dan and Janelle wanted to get Boogie on their side since the game was “Reset” because they were afraid that the rest of the house was going to start to gun for them. While Dan was trying to convince Boogie of the, Boogie said “Let me throw you a curve ball. What do you think of getting out Janelle?” In one of those unpredicted turns that Big Brother guarantees to give, Dan took the bait and ran with it.

After talks with Danielle and Britney, by some logic that I do not comprehend, the plan was to get Janelle up and out this week. They wavered yesterday and decided to keep nominations the same. Then last night, as Boogie was making a final plea to Dan, Brit and Janelle barged in on their conversation to push a coach’s alliance again. Boogie flat out rejected the alliance and said he’s in no way agreeing to see Frank go. He told Janelle that he didn’t trust her and that they were at an impasse. This was what Dan wanted to hear and after the girls leave he told Boogie that he’d convince Danielle to use the POV and put Janelle up. This goes on, meeting after meeting, for the rest of the night.

Big Brother Week 4 POV Competition Results

After Thursday’s RESET of the Big Brother 14 game, old alliances have crumbled, new partnerships have formed and we truly have started the game anew. Wil and Janelle are now at each other’s throats. Ian has stated that he’s breaking away from Boogie and has no problem voting with the majority, even if it means that he has to vote out his old teammate Frank. Boogie is furious at the rest of the house, especially his former Coaches because he found out that they all lied to him and were planning to vote out Frank on Thursday.

A fair amount of scrambling took place on the Live Feeds today with the POV Comp looming in a few hours. The players in the POV are Danielle, Frank, Wil, Ian, Jenn and Shane with Dan hosting.

It looks like Frank has to wear a “Spiritard” this week, probably wearing it on his walk of shame out the door this Thursday.

Big Brother 14 Week 4 Nomination Results

After last night’s tumultuous “Reset” of Big Brother 14 with the Coaches entering the game and Danielle winning HOH, the possibilities are endless to whom our resident bunny boiler should nominate. Should she keep the momentum going to evict Frank? Should she focus on the ex-coaches to help ensure a newbie wins the game? What is our resident bunny boiler to do?

On the Live Feeds today the general consensus in all her negotiations was to target Frank this week. The only issue was who to put on the block with him to ensure he goes while getting rid of the next biggest target if Frank wins the POV. She had her ‘lil southern heart set on Wil but started wavering between him and Boogie just before the Live Feeds cut for the Nomination Ceremony.
